15. Problems with Islam
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23 NIV)
A Problem with Islam
Human beings, as beings, have many qualities such as love and mercy. Of course, human beings are not perfect beings, but they have such qualities that make them beings. One would think that a Perfect or Supreme Being would have these qualities but have them perfectly completely, not temporarily. A perfect being would perfectly love and have its derivative mercy or kindness (Galatians 5:22-23) perfectly.
Love is an action that involves another being or person. A person that cares for another person. We can see that God is perfectly loving in the kindness and mercy He shows to humanity (John 3:16). However, how could there be love before creation, before any of the angels, before anything that is not eternal. If God is a solitary person as Islam defines God (Surah 9:30-31, 41:6), as do also Jehovah’s Witnesses and Judaism, then He could not love or show mercy (Surah 4:24, 29) as there would be nothing to love. If God could not love, then He would not be perfect. Therefore, to meet the criteria of being perfectly loving it necessarily follows that God mush be at least two persons. In fact, at the creation in Genesis 1:1, 2 and John 1:1 we know that God is a Father, Son (Word) and Holy Spirit. He is the Supreme Being and the Qu’ran is false. If the Qu’ran is false than Islam is false and Allah is not God and cannot love or be merciful from eternity. (for more information cf. Is There a God? If so, What is He Like? )
Another problem with Islam…
The Qu’ran says that Jesus was not crucified but that Allah made it appear that he was crucified. Christians who apparently argue that Jesus was crucified are mistaken and really have no real knowledge, only assumptions. Jesus was not killed by crucifixion. It was later that Allah raised Him up to Himself.1 This logically means that Allah duped people into believing that Jesus was crucified. So, Allah was in the business of deception about Jesus which demonstrates the faulty character of Allah. Therefore, Allah cannot be a perfect being and this disqualifies him from being God Almighty. The God of the Bible and the god of Islam are not the same.
Still another problem with Islam…
Muslims will deny that Jesus is God. They believe He is a prophet, but not divinity which contradicts the testimony of Jesus, Himself. When Jesus healed the paralytic in Mark 2, the Pharisees, in their thoughts, were accusing Jesus of blasphemy because He was claiming, correctly, that only God can forgive sin (2:7). Jesus was able to understand their thoughts, thus demonstrating His divinity. Psalms 94:11 says that the LORD (Yahweh) knows the thoughts of men.
Jesus continues this revelation of who He is by identifing Himself with the Son of Man in Daniel 7:13-14. The Son of man is a divine title that Jesus attributes to Himself. This is why the Pharisees saw Him as a blasphemer, a mere man making Himself out to be God. How can Jesus be a prophet of God as the Qu’ran claims (Sura 3:84, Sura 19:30) if He makes such outrageous statements unless He really is that which He claims! (see also John 1:1-14 and Colossians 1:15-19)
